Lockdown Chronicles

Hey people!!!! It's been a minute.....you must have been wondering what I've been up to. The lockdown is messing with me just as it messing with you but we have to stay indoors to remain safe. I've been keeping busy with a lot of research, trainings and CV work and I can't wait to tell you about it.

I held a Résumé Building Workshop for graduates and undergraduates on WhatsApp and the response was amazing. At first people were joining and leaving the class and I was wondering what the issue was but I decided to take my mind off it. I must say that I was nervous because I've never done something like this before.

When the class finally started, I relaxed and the rest was history. I gave assignments and the class diligently carried out the assignments & submitted. This made me really happy. They asked intelligent questions and by Jehovah's grace, I answered them to the best of my ability.

I did some upgrading myself, taking courses here and there, doing a lot of reading, etc. I'm already getting used to this no 9-5 job. A lot of people have been sending in their CVs for rewriting and this has kept me so busy that I have even neglected my job search...I'm still searching ooo if have any to gimme.

We're still living in fear of the enemy, COVID-19. Staying indoors is so not easy. The worst part is not being able to go home and kiss/squeeze my momma, we will be alright las las.

It's been on the news that many organizations are implementing paycuts and lay-offs; some of them after being "generous" to the FG to combat COVID-19.

Put your CV in order, put your LinkedIn Page in order. Send out that application. Do some networking. Don't be on Instagram and Twitter the whole day. Be productive. Look for courses you can enroll in. Check Alison, Coursera, Udemy, etc.

Do your best and leave the rest to God. When next we meet, I'll gist you about my trip to the northern part of Nigeria.

Till we meet again, I remain your humble Brown Skin Gurl....
