I got Invited to be a Guest Speaker at an Event!

Guys! Me! Chidimma Okorafor! Sorry.....Igbinedion...don't let my in-laws come for me! So I got a mail from the co-founder of AfriteQ Academy. She wanted me to be a guest speaker in one of their career programs I was excited I couldn't believe it, I was nervous at the same time. I shared it with all my family members I shared with my husband shared with my sister my mom my dad and some of my friends I was like I've not done this before like how do I go about this.

I reached out to a friend Irene Agboju. I told her "I've never done this before I don't even take myself serious how do I expect people to take me seriously and then she laughs and then she basically started talking me through it, she told me "oh this is something that you're very good at, you can do it",  basically she just changed my whole mindset and by the time I was done talking to her I felt like I was already prepared. Now here's where the work began.

I had to come up with PowerPoint slides; before now I had very little knowledge of PowerPoint. The last time I remember using PowerPoint was when I was in primary school, then my dad hired a computer teacher to teach my sister and me at home. He taught us the basics of PowerPoint but nothing too serious. So I had to develop my content first. I have an ebook on CV writing so I didn't have much of a problem with developing my content. I just had to design my PowerPoint slides and make them look beautiful and all.

The day for the training came, thank God it was virtual. I developed one cough like that (I don't know where it came from), maybe I was nervous. All in all, it was an amazing event. I know that I will get better with time, there's no rush at all.
